Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSi GTE (204ps) DSG

Pano roof, 38 mile range, full leather, Plug In Hybrid Electric

This is the plug-in hybrid version of the 8th-generation Golf, which means it mates a conventional petrol engine with an electric motor and has the capability to run on electric-only power for up to 38 miles. 

Thus the GTE can take advantage of all that’s good about electric-only motoring for short journeys, while its entirely conventional petrol engine means you can motor normally once the batteries have run out of juice - in other words, there are no range anxiety issues. 

It sits in the Golf Range , as the name suggests, somewhere close to the all-out sporting GTI with more than  a hint of sportiness in its styling and make-up. 

That the GTE appears lower and leaner than a standard Golf is an advantage of the sports suspension that lowers it by around 10mm and this particular example also has Volkswagen DCC ( Dynamic chassis control) for even more on-road precision. 

It comes with an appropriate amount of kit for its price, including climate control, LED headlights, automatic lights and wipers, cruise control and parking sensors to the front and the rear. 

Unusually for GTE ( and we have supplied quite a few!) this one has some VERY RARE options which we have not seen before. Highlights include, winter package, heated front and rear seats, Vienna Leather upholstery, electric driver seat with memory function and even a sliding Panoramic glass sunroof. A total of over £7,000 of factory options were fitted to this GTE making it easily the highest specified one we've seen here at JEMEC.

Overall a classy hatchback that provides an ample electric range for your daily commutes around the island and built to the legendary standard of VW Golf it is just a brilliant package.
