To get 2021 off to a positive start, we ditched the new year resolutions and decided to have a competition instead! A competition to celebrate '21 Reasons to be Cheerful' here in Jersey and supporting some of our fantastic local businesses, organisations and charities.
Over 21 days, we gave away over £3,000 of prizes to 37 friends and followers of JEMEC on Facebook and Instagram. There were grazing platers, decorating vouchers, champagne afternoon teas, beautiful jewellery, an overnight stay at Longueville, memberships for Jersey Heritage and the aMaizin Adventure park and, of course, an exclusive RIB charter for nine people to Les Minquiers.
It was a simple 'Like, Comment & Share' competition taking place on our Facebook and Instagram pages, which hopefully created a bit of fun in these often worrying and depressing times. We tried to to support fantastic local Jersey businesses and charities - most of whom, like us, have faced unprecedented issues and problems in the past year. And, of course, the people behind them - who have had to deal with their businesses while also often worrying about their own health and that of their families, staff and customers. It definitely hasn't been easy.
